Frizz Pop is a comedy duo made up of Kate Pinchuck and Lindy Johnson, two rising stars of the South African comedy industry. Their fresh and funny take on millennial living will have you laughing your literal tits off and offering to pay their rent.
After running a successful women-only line up show at the Raptor Room in Cape Town, Lindy and Kate have moved to the big bad city of Joburg and banded together to create a unique two-person stand-up comedy show. Listen to them riff on the trials and complexities of being two twenty-something women trying to navigate their way through a confusing and expensive world.
Lindy started off her promising career by winning the Savanna Show Us Your Apples Comedy Showdown in 2017 and in 2018 was one of the featured comedians on Trevor Noah’s Nationwild for Showmax and Mnet. She has been featured as a performer at the Jive Cape Town Funny Festival and Kings and Queens Comedy.
Kate is an actor and comedian. She recently taped two stand-up specials for DSTV Box Offcie and Showmax, Laugh at First Sight and Funny People Africa. In 2018, she returned from the National Arts Festival a double-Ovation award winner, for her one-woman show Medusa Incarnate and her role in the dystopian sci-fi Gaslight.
Frizz Pop was performed at the Baxter Theatre as part of the inaugural Mother City Comedy Festival. The show at POPArt will be their Johannesburg debut.
