ITSOSENG
ITSOSENG is an award-winning South African theatre work written and performed by Omphile Molusi,
now reimagined as a cinematic digital theatre production for Digital Setworks.
Set in the township of Itsoseng in the North West, the story follows Mawilla (played by Omphile Molusi) as he, inhabiting multiple characters,as he reflects on shattered promises of life after 1994 in Itsoseng, and the broader realities that came with life in this township. Mawilla applies personal accounts of life lived in Itsoseng.
Performed in Setswana and English, Itsoseng is an intimate and powerful story about love, loss, memory and the search for meaning in a changing South Africa.
